LCHS Youth Apprenticeship Program

Luxemburg-Casco High School offers work-based learning experiences such as job shadows and paid youth apprenticeships. Our on-site YA Coach assists students in career exploration, resume building, and interview preparation. These opportunities allow students to earn valuable knowledge and skills outside of the high school classrooms. Our youth apprenticeship program is conducted and managed in partnership with CESA 7 and the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce.

The Youth Apprenticeship program is overseen by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD). Students can earn a state-issued skills certificate in the career cluster that their apprenticeship is in. Participants receive quarterly performance evaluations as well as an end-of-the-year assessment of their specific career pathway competencies.

Credit Availability

Students who engage in district approved work-based, experiential learning opportunities, and complete the program requirements may earn up to a maximum of 6 elective credits and apply these credits to fulfill graduation requirements.

- Max 2 credits - Junior Year
- 4 credits - Senior Year

Credits are earned based on hours of experience and performance.

- 112.5 hours = .5 credits
- 225 hours = 1.0 credits, etc

The LCHS Youth Apprenticeship Coach can help you understand how to set-up a work-based, experiential learning opportunity that is credit eligible and/or how to apply for credit for new and existing part-time employment.
